I also have this same event happen almost daily. My neighbor is crazy and have 3 very large and mean dogs. They get out all the time and eat every cat, raccoon, rabbit and any other animal that gets in there way. When you call the police they are so tired of dealing with the man and him being crazy that they do nothing so now I have to be in fear evyertime I walk out of the house.

Howdy Stephanie, A friend of mine is a MCT driver and she was telling me of your blog which is about animials. Today is my 1st visit to your blog. This very thing happened to me with my 4month old german shepard mix. This huge boxer pitbull mix came running from in between the houses and on the sidewalk in a lunge.I told my puppy to run home we were close and he did. I stood my ground in the deepest voice I could do at that moment clapped hands hard and loud yelling get 3 loud claps with shoulders up and as broad as I could be like Ceaser says dont show fear. It worked and the dog left. I was lucky even though I was terrified. I called the police and they went looking for such a dog but never got back with me. So dog is still free to roam without punishment to the owner a fine because my skin crawl thinking what happens to a child it will happen to someone sometime because of a loose dog. I believe you need to be a responsible animal owner to their pet as well as to being responsible to the outside world of their lives which includes all of us other pet owners and our pets.

I walk 2 dogs & I've had the same problem. The first time I used my cell phone & called the police. Now I carry pepper spray. I've had to use it 3 times now. Sure does make the dogs think twice before coming after my dogs.
